18 months...Already?

Blakely, you turn 18 months today and are SO busy!

You are practically in constant motion! Hopping, marching, climbing, running...you name it, and you are doing it. (Videos to come!) It is so funny to watch you discover new ways to do your favorite things, like climbing. I have to be vigilant in making sure that chairs are pushed up to tables or else I find you on top of the tables...or anywhere else that you can get your knee onto. It must be in your DNA since evidently your mama was a pretty skilled curtain climber herself.

You talk so much now. Dada, Sissy, Syssa (Lyssa), Pawpaw, JoJo (Joanna...also doubles for Gigi!), snack, drink, "k" (okay), shoes, sock, bye-bye, hello, baby, elmo, "ov oooo" (love you), hop, go, rock-rock, whaf (waffle), uh-oh, and kang koo (thank you).

You still don't say mama. Although I REALLY look forward to when you start saying it, I'm okay with this. I've decided that you don't say it because I'm always around. Why would you need to say it if I'm already there?

You are also saying a few short sentences, "Where is it? There it is! Where is she? There she is!" (Mainly when we're playing hide and seek or when you are looking for something.)

You love animals! Both pointing them out...cow (pronounced cOOOOWWWWWW), duck, pup-PY...and telling us what they say...moo, cack cack (quack), oof (woof).

You can say and point out several body parts...eeeeeyessss, nooooosssse, ehs (ears), heh (hair), mouf (mouth), be buh (belly button), kneeeees, toes, fingers (not saying this one yet), ti-ti, and boo (booty).

You are such a good eater! Some of your favorite foods are mandarin oranges, strawberries, green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, WAFFLES, mum-mums, and granola bars. Or anything on our plates.

You are still our little cuddle bug. All three of us get many hugs and kisses every day without having to ask for them. You've also started saying thank you when we give you hugs and kisses too! So cute!

You LOVE to throw things in the "tash" (trash)!!!

You are such a good sleeper. All you want is your paci, blanket, and our songs...Jesus Loves Me, You are my Sunshine & Twinkle Twinkle Little Star...and you're off to sleep.

You LOVE to read! You bring us book after book for us to read to you. You also will sit and look at books by yourself a lot. Some of your favorites are Dr. Suess and Barney books.

You adore music, singing, and dancing. You can "sing" and do most of the motions for Itsy Bitsy Spider and Pat-a-cake.

You watch Sesame Street almost every morning. Elmo and Abby Caddaby are your favorites. Barney is still a big favorite too. Oh and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

You are still a girly girl who loves accessories. Grandma got you several bead necklaces for Christmas and you wear them almost everyday.

You are extremely choleric (type A personality). You do not like it when you don't get your way, and you are not afraid to show it. You have learned that you're not allowed to hit whoever your mad at, so you usually spank your own leg. (Which is really funny to see. I'm working on my game face!) You also have gotten pretty good at throwing fits. (Thankfully not in public!) You have banged your head on the floor a couple of times, so you know it hurts, so when you get mad and want to do it now, you are much more careful about it! (Again, hilarious to see!)

Grandma & Grandpa also got you a pretend cell phone for Christmas. It's probably in your top 3 favorite toys along with the house that Santa brought and your rocking horse.

You say "cheese" before I ask you to when you see that I'm taking a picture with my phone or camera. If you don't want to, you just shake your head no.

You think it's hilarious if mommy or daddy pretends to cry. Not sure if this is good or not.

You love going to Mother's Day Out. It took a few weeks for you not to cry when I left you there, but you adapted really well. You even take a pretty good nap there!

You are a big helper...throwing diapers away, putting your dirty dishes in the sink, sweeping and helping put clothes into the dryer are some of your favorite chores!

We are loving watching your personality continue to develop and grow. You are such a serving, loving little girl, Blakely. I am so looking forward to seeing how God uses you to bring glory to Him.

We love you and couldn't imagine life without you. Happy 18 months, baby girl!
